So I took my first step towards my garden this year! I got a Target giftcard from the paralegals I work for. I bought some garden tools and some seeds. I will officially be trying this spring the following fruits and vegetables: tomatoes (cherry and whole), lettuce, pumpkins, carrots, bush beans, watermelon and peas. I also bought a small fence for around the garden and some plant food. Should I be buying fertilizer? I'm still so new to all of this. I need to figure out exactly where my garden will be. I'm really excited but also nervous. I guess it is all a learning experience. Any advice that you have is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I love gardening and I highly recommend that you read the book called Square Foot Gardening (check at your library) it will teach you how to maximize your space, prep your soil and all sorts of things.. a great book
